A medical condition common-yet embarrassing-among men and women around the age of 60 is urinary incontinence (UI). Another frustrating nature of this condition is its incurability. Nonetheless, it may be controlled using a variety of treatment procedures as well as tools such as incontinence underwear.
Involuntary leaking or uncontrollable wettings are the usual symptoms of urinary incontinence. Due to these characteristics, people also refer to UI as loss of bladder control or urinary leakage. UI in most cases is caused by previous medical conditions and nerve problems one experienced. Diabetes, stroke, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis are some of the most common ailments which can lead to UI. Pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause on the other hand are the major reasons as to why women tend to have urinary incontinence. The urinary functions are all affected by aforementioned ailments as they directly hit the body’s brain and nervous system functions.
Attention is required to treat urinary incontinence. The severity of damage and effect of said condition can be lessened by having and undergoing treatments. The type of treatment to be used will depend on the person who will be doing them. Ones lifestyle is one of the most common bases for identifying the type of treatment which can be as simple as exercises and medications or use special devices or procedures prescribed by your doctor, or surgery. Inconsistence underwear is also a common part of this condition in order to avoid wetting or uncontrolled urine release while in a meeting or in the middle of an important event.
Incontinence underwear are common among UI suffering individuals and usually causes discomfort to the user but is the same time quite useful to him/her. Unlike adult diapers which others also use to control UI, this type of underwear does not use Velcro. This means that the material can be easily pulled up or down whenever needed. Different styles are also available in the market which are not only comfortable but are also fashionable. Moreover, incontinence underwear are far more easier to store and clean and are more environmentally friendly compared to adult diapers which can only eb used one time.
Urinary incontinence may be corrected with lifestyle changes and medical treatment. There are also products which can help in treating and going through such condition like the use of incontinence underwear. Remember that there is always an incontinence product or program that will suit each person’s needs.
