Steps To Prevent Bruising: Add These Specific Nutrients To Your Diet!

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Although you may have discovered that you are more likely to bruise as you get older, this doesn’t mean that can’t offset the tendency. To minimize those dark bruises from appearing, you need to evaluate how you can augment your diet with some specific nutrients. Everyone’s body responds differently, but adding the two nutrients bioflavonoids and bilberry to your daily routine can have very beneficial affects.

Even though near constant bruising is something that can happen as we age, we need to learn why that bruising takes place. It is a fact that we lose collagen as we age, and our skin becomes thinner and less flexible. It is also a fact that our capillaries have thinner walls making them easier to break, which can cause dark, dramatic bruises to form. Determining what causes our easy bruising will direct us to the options that are going to be most beneficial for us to evaluate.

A good place to start would be to learn about bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are defined as water soluble plant pigments. Nearly 4,000 of them are currently classified, and they come from fruits, nuts, and grains to name just a few of their sources. When you consider adding bioflavonoids to your diet, citrus bioflavonoids are the most reasonable choice, and the benefits of adding these nutrients goes beyond simply helping to reduce bruising.

There are several qualities that make bioflavonoids so healthy for you. The fundamentals of their benefits are the fact that they are anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, and anti-viral substances. All of these things will help keep you healthier and less prone to illness, but they will also help keep your circulatory system in better health. You will be able to reduce bruising and to limit the muscle strain that you undergo by adding the consumption of bioflavonoids.

Do you know anything about bilberries? Bilberries, which are fruits that grow on dark green, compact shrubs, provide a different variety of specific nutrients that have some similarities to bioflavonoids. These delicious, small berries, and they can be useful in treatments for inflammation and illness prevention. They provide benefits to people trying to control their blood pressure, and they help keep your arteries from hardening.

Sometime it is not easy to find fresh bilberries. They can, however, be found as supplements, as either the primary or secondary ingredient, so check the availability of bilberry supplements. Naturally, nothing is better for your health than the fresh bilberries, or any fruit that can be obtained fresh.

Don’t just resign yourself to getting lots of bruises as you get older. There are plenty of things that you can do about and if one method does not work for you, try another. You’ll find that bruising and then working to cover up your bruises does not have to be a way of life for you.

Now that you have decided to integrate bilberries and bioflavonoids into your diet, you’ve made a smart decision. Bilberries and citrus bioflavonoids have been proved to be beneficial in overcoming easy bruising. Rather than gathering and preparing these nutrients yourself, give consideration to following the all natural, daily supplement program from Bruises Be Banned, which has bilberries and citrus bioflavonoids as well as critical vitamins and minerals, all in the proper quantities, that can help you stop bruising altogether.

A Detailed Look At The Top Three Disorders You Really Don’t Want To Have

Monday, May 31st, 2010

The lifestyle we have, the type of food we eat, and our genetic makeup all contribute to what we are and what we turn out to be. It also affects what ailment we may get as we age and grow older. Listed here are 3 of the worst ailments everyone can have. These diseases are not uncommon, and have brought on much discomfort and disability not just to the particular person with the sickness, but on the people who care about them. These ailments don’t have a cure too, which makes it a permanent burden to those people that are affected. Hopefully, someone will be able to find out a cure for these illnesses to alleviate the pain and suffering of those that are afflicted.

Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a situation wherein someone’s brain cells gradually die on their own. The main influence of the illness is on someone’s memory. It can commence from smaller things, such as misplacing house keys or utility bills. But as the disease progresses, the issue becomes a lot worse. The affected person will not likely be able to recognize their very own family, at times mistaking a daughter for a neighbor or an old friend.

The sickness takes away not just memories, but also anything which is stored from the brain. As the illness worsens, the affected might not even be able to perform tasks which they are familiar with. They might turn out like a kid with no memory of their achievements and accomplishments in life. It is definitely painful for the relatives to find out that their loved one doesn’t know them anymore and can’t recall what he’s done with his life.

Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease is another situation that everyone will not want to have. The nerves that influence motor movements are affected and become malfunctioned. The symptoms may commence with minor hand shaking or might cause the entire body to shake uncontrollably. An individual experiencing this condition will find it difficult to even hold a pen or drive safely. Once the disease becomes more advanced, the affected individual will not be able to do something for himself and will constantly depend on somebody else to take proper care of him.

The ironic part is the fact that the mental abilities of someone experiencing this ailment are intact. Hence, it is a struggle for someone to see himself helpless and not be able to take care or safeguard himself. Nonetheless, you will find trainings and therapies that aim to make life less difficult for both the individual with the illness and the person who normally takes care of him.

Arthritis

Arthritis is yet another ailment which could cause much struggling and disability. Although it isn’t fatal, it causes a lot of soreness that it will absolutely affect anyone’s everyday routine. Historically, only elderly patients suffer from Arthritis. But due on the type of life style as well as the food we consume, even younger generations are already affected by this disease nowadays.

Arthritis literally signifies inflammation of the joints. What takes place is that there is a reduction on fluids that cause our joints being loose, so leading to friction and eventually inflammation. The moment this occurs, there will likely be a trouble in writing, holding onto things, and also walking. You can find several types of Arthritis depending on the certain joints affected. Some examples are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Means To Stop Bruising: Add The Needed Essential Vitamins!

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

No one wants to be subject to easy bruising, but you should make sure your bruising is not caused by some medical condition. Your easy bruising is likely caused by your body becoming increasingly frail as it ages, but it might be caused by some type of vitamin deficiency. Even if your bruising is not caused directly by a vitamin deficiency, you should learn which vitamins can be beneficial in helping you to overcome your easy bruising.

In the first place, think about what vitamins are for. They are used by our body in specialized ways, and our bodies may not derive necessary quantities from our diet alone. Because we cannot make these vitamins ourselves, we need to find them from an outside source. Even with a balanced diet, your body might be missing something that it needs and easy bruising might be a sign of that. That being said, what are the vitamins that can help prevent easy bruising?

The first vitamin that can be helpful in overcoming easy bruising that we should examine is vitamin C. Vitamin C has been often touted as a cure-all, but its actual function is that of an immune system booster. Increasing your intake of vitamin C when you feel the preliminary symptoms of a cold can help prevent the cold symptoms altogether. Vitamin C is essential in enhancing your body’s ability to produce collagen, which provides lubrication for your joints and keeps the skin flexible. Having adequate levels of collagen in our body is essential if you want to reduce bruising easily.

The first place you should be looking if you want to increase the amount of vitamin C into your diet should be citrus fruits. Oranges and grapefruits in particular can provide great amounts of vitamin C from juice, but you’ll get even more benefits by eating them raw. Vitamin C is more readily absorbed into your body by eating the fruit. Natural vitamin C supplements are also nearly universally available.

The next step of your education should be to learn about vitamin K. Vitamin is essential in keeping your circulatory system operating at optimal levels. The vitamin’s enhancement of the blood coagulation process was discovered by the Germans, and their word for coagulation begins with a K which became the name of the vitamin. Vitamin K has also been considered to be a vitamin that enhances the healing process, and it can be applied topically for existing bruises, and be taken internally to help prevent bruising from occurring at all.

There are three readily available ways to increase vitamin K in your body’s system. Dark green, leafy vegetables contain generous amounts of vitamin K, and increasing your dietary intake of vegetables like spinach or collard greens can be very beneficial. Like other vitamins, vitamin K is available as a natural supplement which can be taken orally or it is available as a topical salve or which can be applied topically to help speed the fading of an existing bruise.

You can add vitamin E to the discussion of vitamins that have some benefits for overcoming easy bruising. Vitamin E is best used externally for treating existing bruises. Vitamin E is also available from sunflower seeds and almonds, or as a supplement, but benefits of taking vitamin E internally are marginal at best.

Now that you’ve learned about how these three vitamins can help reduce bruising easily, give strong consideration to adding them to your daily routine. An easy way to get the maximum benefits of these vitamins is to follow the Bruises Be Banned program, which gives you a proper daily dose of these essential vitamins and additional nutrients that will help prevent bruising altogether.

Mineral Makeup, A Hot Beauty Trend

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

One of the hottest “new” beauty trends these days is mineral makeup. It’s actually been around for decades, but never really caught on until recently. The natural ingredients meant that this makeup is topping lists around the country. It’s a hot item for good reason, too.

While many beauty trends come and go in the blink of an eye, natural trends are often longer lasting. In the case of mineral based makeup, it’s likely to be a very long trend. The ingredients are so good for the skin and have so many benefits that it’s hard to imagine this one going away.

Even dermatologists like this type of cosmetic, since it is hypoallergenic. Made from all natural materials, these foundations and other product are ideal for women with sensitive skin. They will work very well for anyone who usually can’t wear blush and powder because of skin reactions. It’s the perfect way to skip the outbreaks and still look great.

Regular makeup can be pretty heavy and when applied heavily, it tends to be fairly noticeable. Mineral makeup actually hides flaws without appearing to be on the face at all. It lets the skin breathe, which means fewer zits and pimples and healthier cutis. The light, silky texture of the foundations that contain minerals is hardly noticeable and it really enhances the appearance, giving the face a healthy glow. And yet, it still covers up spots and blemishes where needed.

With so many types of products out there, it’s hard to choose. Some women pick the cheaper, non-natural cosmetics that will cause skin issues. While they might look good, they need more and more products just to cover up the blemishes that are caused by their cosmetics. Choosing natural products, on the other hand, means it’s possible to look nice and not have to wear a ton of beauty products.

Facial skin tends to be a little more sensitive than the rest of the body. It’s possible to enjoy quite a few positive benefits from the use of chemicals on this sensitive skin. Mineral based cosmetics use things like zinc, gold and magnesium, among others. These help with the beauty side of things while also giving skin a little extra boost. Another advantage is that since these are actually good for the face, it doesn’t matter if a woman sleeps in her makeup, it will won’t clog pores and cause outbreaks of zits.

These products are also good at protecting the face from potential sun damage. They are full of zinc oxide, which is often used in sunblock. It blocks out the harmful rays of the sun and can still look great.

After specific skin treatments, like laser or chemical peeling, mineral based products can really help with the healing process. The ingredients cool damaged skin and promote rapid healing. This is a great benefit that can be had at any age with the right products.

Mineral based cosmetics help boost natural beauty. These products are rapidly becoming popular and work for just about everyone. The natural base of the make up is a great way to get healthier skin.

There are many steps that can be taken to remain youthful and radiant. Hair removal, exercise, skin care, hair care and a trip to the beauty salon can all help this process.

Some Important Aspects About Beauty

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Beauty could refer to internal or external one. Internal beauty normally refers to one’s spiritual development, causing the inner glow from within to shine one’s face.

It does not matter whether you are a man or woman. You should take care of your looks. Washing your face in the morning clears any impurities on the face after a night of sleeping. Normally, washing, toning and moisturizing are three steps, which should be practiced on a daily basis for a good facial complexion. After washing your face, you should tone using a toner. This would tighten the facial skin.

The facial skin absorbs the ingredients of the toner faster if it is clean. After that, apply moisturizer for the facial skin. A healthy and glowing facial skin is mainly due to sufficient moisture. Considering the depletion of the ozone layer and harmful effects of the UV rays of the sun, it is important to apply UV protection lotion before going out into the Sun. Depending on the strength of the Sun’s rays, choose the appropriate UV protection lotion based on SPF.

If you pick a lotion with a higher SPF, it would give you more UV protection. Apart from protecting the face, it is a good move to protect your limbs as well. The damaging UV rays not only can cause skin problems but they may cause skin cancer as well. For protecting your eyes and preventing wrinkles around your eye region, use a good pair of sunglasses with 100% UV rays filtering before venturing outside.

To have good skin, make sure that you remove the remnants of your make-up before going to sleep. In relation to this, washing your face after returning from work would remove all the dust and dirt from your face as well. A simple routine of washing your face in the morning and evening, toning and moisturizing may do wonders to maintain a beautiful skin. As you may know, cells die and grow much slower as a person ages, so, try out some of the special age creams to prevent wrinkles.

Apart from external application, it is important to maintain internal health for a healthy and youthful looking skin. In relation to this, drinking 8-10 glasses of plain water everyday is important. It helps to clear toxins and other impurities in the body. Eating more vegetables and fruits rather than meat also brings out the internal glow of one’s skin. Other factors like stress could cause effects on the skin as well.

Therefore, it is a good move to perform regular exercises for relieving stress and thus, improving your health. You can also try exercises like yoga, tai chi and Qi Gong, which are good for the mind and body. By practicing yoga daily, some people possess a healthy and youthful skin. Since yoga a good balance of internal energy, a person usually experiences better health overall.

If you are the sort of person who smokes or drink alcohol a lot, it is high time you considered cutting on cigarettes and taking less alcoholic drinks to maintain a healthy skin.

There are many steps that can be taken to remain youthful and radiant. Hair removal, exercise, skin care, hair care and a trip to the beauty salon can all help this process.

What Decision To Use When Looking For A Stair Chair Lift

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

We all know what a stair chair lift is so I won’t bore you with some innocuous details about how they operate. Rather, I would like to recount a story about my grandmother who was suffering from mobility issues and how we had struggled between our love and loyalty with the obvious monetary considerations about purchasing the stair chair.

Born in Italy in the early 1900’s my grandmother was stricken with polio at an early age. The disease limited her mobility and left her with a severe limp that grew increasingly worse as the years went on. Not one to complain she went about her daily chores with nary a complaint. As she reached her 75th birthday her mobility was no longer something she could overcome with her tough Italian mindset. It was becoming increasingly difficult for her to get around in her home. You see she lived in an old brownstone in Brooklyn, New York with narrow steps that would make a woman half her age struggle to climb.

We explored all our options, which included a nursing home all to which she refused emphatically. She wanted to remain independent and not have to rely on someone to take care of her. She wanted to stay in her home because it is where she has lived for fifty years. Right next-door was a church that she went to everyday. The only way for us to honor her wishes was to get her a stair chair lift so that she could get upstairs.

After doing some research and seeing what the price of the stair chair lifts were we had a big decision to make. On a limited income my grandmother had no way of paying for this herself. The old brownstone had weird shaped steps and the stair chair lift would have to be customized to fit her needs. This obviously increased the price and caused a fair amount of discussion among all of us.

Ultimately our final decision was to get the stair chair installed and allow my grandmother to live out her remaining years in the home she had come to love. The look of joy and gratitude on my grandmothers face was priceless.

The money was no longer important. The stair chair was an easy way for us to show how much we cared. Sometimes you have to do what’s right and not concern yourself with the cost. Would you make the same decision we did?

Discover more information from my website at Stair Chair and find the best prices on Stair Chair Lifts. If you want to stay in the home you love then get a stair chair now.

Alzheimer’s Disease & The Caregiving Experience

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Alzheimer’s disease is one the most common type of dementia which accounts to 60-80% of all reported cases. Alzheimer’s is a brain disorder that has a slow onset but causes a decline in functioning such as loss of motor function, loss of speech, and profound personality and behavioral changes such as hallucinations, paranoia, delusions, inattention to hygiene and belligerence. With these in mind, we can now see the big picture of how the disease impacts the patient’s life and the people responsible for the patient’s care.

Growing statistics of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s gives you a greater chance of knowing someone who is going through the same experience. It might be your friend, relatives, co-worker, neighbors or anyone you value. People ages 65 and beyond are prone to have this debilitating disease and it’s projected that 10 million people acts as the caretaker for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in America. It’s never too late to lend a hand and help your friend, relative or co-worker be relieved from caregiver stress. We all can do something.Keeping in touch is the simplest thing we can do. Let them know that you are there to support them in the best that you can. Providing care for a person with Alzheimer’s could be sometimes overwhelming. Knowing that they are people behind could lessen the load.

The caregiving task can be stressful at times and caretakers tend to forget about themselves often. Studies have found out that Alzheimer care providers experience health issues related to care-giving. Encourage caregivers to take care of themselves. Advise them to eat healthy, exercise regularly and have sufficient rest and sleep to stay fit. To help prevent burnout, give the caregiver a break. Volunteer yourself to be the day’s caretaker of the person with Alzheimer’s so the caregiver can run errands, attend a support group meeting, do a favorite activity or attend religious activity. We all recognize the significance of personal time.

Knowledge is power. Be informed and learn some facts regarding Alzheimer’s and its effects to the people around the patient. It’s easier to understand what’s the family is going through and pick some ideas to help the family manage their stress and anxiety levels.

Lastly, lend your ears if someone among the care-giving family wants to speak out and tell you their stories; sometimes caregivers just need someone to talk to. We feel relived when we try to bring out things inside us. Just let them talk and try not to interrupt or contradict. Establish a supportive environment. You don’t need to give answers, being a listener is sometimes enough.
